Last Saturday Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge stayed at The Westleton Crown after attending the wedding of one of Catherine’s best friends.  The wedding party had booked the entire 34 bedroom hotel in Westleton, near Southwold.

General Manager Gareth Clarke said: ‘We were delighted that the groom’s family had chosen The Westleton Crown for a house party and base for the weekend. It was a lovely family occasion with a relaxed atmosphere and they both seemed really happy to be in a comfortable environment with friends.’

‘They stayed in a room named Swan which has a contemporary four poster bed and stylish roll top bath big enough for two.’

‘It was certainly a surprise to all the team when they arrived; it’s not every day you get to serve the 2nd in line to the throne. The atmosphere was very relaxed though and everyone seemed to have a great time’ Gareth reported.

The show was certainly a productive 5 days for us and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was fantastic to meet and speak to so many friends, customers, hospitality professionals, partners and other exhibitors and it was certainly an enjoyable and productive three days.

Local restaurant, Oundle Mill, beat off stiff competition to be named Restaurant of the Year 2010/11 in the prestigious Northamptonshire Food Awards!

The Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards celebrate all that is great about the county’s food and drink, recognise excellence within the county’s dining venues and give a public pat on the back to all those who strive to offer exceptional food and drink experiences whilst maintaining strong connections with the community.

Michelin-starred Jason Atherton presented the award at a packed awards dinner in Holdenby House. There were over 50 entrants in the ‘Best Restaurant’ category and the judging was rigorous including: in depth reviews of the menus and wine lists, investigation into the sourcing of local produce, endorsement from diners at Oundle Mill and finally secretive visits from expert  ‘mystery shoppers’.

It was our first time at this show which turned out great, the mix of Hotels, Inns, Bars and Restaurants we met with really highlighted what a fantastically diverse and vibrant selection of places there are in Scotland!

Earlier this month, we exhibited at the UK’s largest hospitality show – Hostec 2011. While there we displayed our latest developments which hotels all over the country use to manage availability, bookings (online and offline), restaurant bookings, spa bookings, membership accounts, track customer data, maximise revenue, reduce data entry and much more.
